Edited 22 days agoMr. Heard never loses his touch. Brand new yet as familiar as a favorite shirt, he'll be 100 and still laying down tracks other could only dream of. Bravo, sir.
Man, it's so good to have some new Mr. Fingers to brighten up this year.
I love the mix of tunes on here: some whistful piano jams reminiscent of Sceneries Not Songs (e.g., Around the Sun) meet more acidy vocoder business (e.g., Pressureize) that harks back to the Outer Acid EP. Plenty of vocals from the man himself; quality from start to finish, with something for everyone. I also appreciate the social consciousness of Something's Going On.
The humble genius Larry Heard unsurprisingly continues to make incredible grooves. Savour this one during many more journeys around the sun. Can't wait for pt. 2!
