My copy has what sounds like non fill when Underwater transitions at the start and subtly throughout the B side. I gave it a clean and repeated plays and it's not getting better. Looks like I got one of the bad ones. Curious if anyone is having the problem specifically with Underwater. It repeats about two times and is hard to miss. This is one of those cases where it sounds beautiful and silent otherwise. When it's silent I want to keep it, when I hear the defects I want to return it. In the end I'm spending more time thinking about it vs. enjoying the music.

Update: It's the day after I wrote the above. I gave it another play and it's actually slightly better. I think the release agents are really caked in on spots and the stylus is just slowly scraping it out. Hoping it continues to get better. It's like flossing plaque. I wish pressing plants included a cleaning phase before packing records.

Update2: exchanged it for a new copy. 2nd is silent on both sides except for the transition at the start of Underwater mentioned above. Only two repeat scrape sounds this time.

Update3: got another copy for daughter and it's the same as the 2nd copy.

Just received my RSD copy. Silent as glass and sounds lush and beautiful. Liz’ vocals are as angelic as ever and I love that she chose Steve Hackett to add his tasty, atmospheric guitars to these songs. Opinions being what they are, if you don’t like the presence of Steves playing, maybe drop a note to Liz and let her know that you don’t agree with her choice of players to accompany her on this first material from her in many moons. I read an article in Mojo with her and she said she hopes to have the opportunity to work with Steve again. Again, maybe write her and tell her that’s a bad idea and to find Robin Guthrie and record with him.

Purchased a new, sealed copy. After opening, I gave it a once-over with a discwasher. On my first listen: Little to no surface noise. 4-5 barely audible clicks of static here & there in the first half of A1. Midway through A2, there are two vocal tracks, and one is little distorted (levels too high maybe?). Still, totally listenable even with the volume turned up a bit. Side B: no issues. More importantly, Liz’s singing is as beautiful as ever. Anyone who has ever appreciated that voice would want a copy of this record, even if it has a momentary issue or two.

Stunning record but my copy is so poor (surface noise, clicks etc) that it ruins the experience,

No issues with my copy, no pops or clicks. Beautifully expansive audio on my system.

Beautiful music, blown away! As always by Liz. But as others have mentioned the pressing is super iffy. My first copy was awful, hiss, clicks, blown out sections. Managed to get a new copy and it's a lot better but still some clicks here and there. Mainly at the start of both sides. If you're buying all you can hope for is that you get one of the better copies!

Production is really good, mastering too, but low quality pressing, surface noise on quiet parts and opening tracks. Same for another Partisan Records press the Just Mustard lp.
Beautiful music overall, minus some 70's guitar sounds (maybe that Genesis touch...).
                  Oniric vocals perfectly catched.

beautiful album, but as others mentioned the pressing quality isn’t great. mine has blown out vocals on some songs including “golden air” - unfortunate.

Unfortunately, I got a bad pressing. Lots of surface noise, loud hiss, and pops and clicks. Unfortunate, as the mastering is really quite good and music itself is amazing. Quite a return to form for Liz Fraser. Music is compelling enough that I will try to return for another copy since it seems others have had better luck.
