Reviews
- Edited one month agoReally dirty, notable surface noise persists after careful brushing. Doesn't play like a new record. I was really happy with the Oneness of Juju reissues but this is disappointing.
- Not an absolutely perfect pressing, but a great one for sure. Mastering is top notch, material is excellent, pressing quality is very good. My copy is flat, and after a bath fairly quiet. It’s fat sounding.
- Finally got around to listening to this one today. Man it is great! My copy has no issues at all. A little dusty but dead quiet after cleaning it. Sorry to all those that did not get the same experience!
- I will also chime in here to report my copy has no issues. No non-fill to report here. The sound quality is good, and was way better than the other RSD title I got (Art Blakey).
- I know several have commented on the quality of the pressing, but mine is quiet on both sides. The vinyl doesn't look pretty, but it's quiet without a cleaning! In terms of the music, this is incredible and so happy to have found a copy. You have to be into 70s jazz that moves from funk to peaceful to vocals. Bernie did a great job on this one and it will go into heavy rotation for a while.
- Beautiful sounding pressing, it did come out of the paper sleeve with a lot more particles than usual, but I cleaned it off and everything was fine. Nice remastering!
- I had a great copy out of the shrinkwrap. There was a bit of dust but with after a dry clean, had zero issues with playback - no pops or snaps.
- Filthy out of the wrapper. Goodness knows where this was pressed, but clearly careful handling isn’t something they do. Could have used a poly-bag - it should be the industry standard. Cleaned up OK using a project RCM. Sounds good, still a fair few clicks and pops though. Hopefully these will go with successive cleans.
- I have the Japanese press of this and was disappointed in the sound quality, so this is a massive win. Bernie Grundman breathes some serious life into this classic. My pressing is nice and quiet, no issues, but I do agree with some of the others here: could have sprung a buck more for a nice outer and a polyvinyl inner. Although I doubt the original was audiophile quality. Sounds great though.
- Unfortunately, buying was a waste of money. Distorted pressing. Particularly egregious after all the Master tape/B.G. hype.
