I got mine at my local record store in late '85 or early '86 which I assume would make it OG (runouts and sleeve are as described here) — it is not translucent.

I now own an original 1985 pressing and one of the recent reissues. I have to admit, I can barely tell a speck of difference. I have tried to compare these things a few separate times. If anything, the reissue might even sound a bit better and beefier. But only by a hair. However, that's my own experience. Each setup will be different. Either way, I love this album and you will probably never find an ideal pressing due to how it was recorded.

I believe that my copy is an original pressing. When I hold it up to the light, it turns light translucent brown.

Anyone have a copy pressed on Quiex-like translucent vinyl? The plant Rainbo Records supposedly used this premium formulation in the mid-1980s.

Overall their most balanced album, with what they were and what they'd become.

Finally got a copy that wasn't beat up (with the exception of slight water damage on the back cover). I never thought it made sense to spend 20 plus dollars on a reissue when you can get the OG for around the same price. Spotty production (pun intended) as per usual with early SST releases, but still a killer album. The first pressing sounds good enough to my ears!

Mine didn't have the lyrics on the inner sleeve, just a generic white one and the same lyrics on a separate smaller insert.

I have a US Vinyl copy of this album without barcode which came with a small SST booklet and order form. The booklet advertises Flip Your Wig and the Makes No Sense single so must have been a later release. Has anyone else heard of it?

What do you guys think is the best sounding vinyl version of this amazing album?
