Wherein the DB’s leave Southern rawk’n’country-roll & move into LA jazz-funk-urban-pop thanks to Michael McDonald’s smooth warbling & influence.
Is this the same band? It could be argued that the inclusion of M.McD (& Skunk Baxter’s impact) revived & reshaped the band to save the flagging appeal of their sound and head them on a newfound career path that suited the emerging “yacht rock” sounds of mid’70’s FM radio. Now more Steely Dan than the Allman Brothers.
Still, a fine collection of lovely catchy melodic (& at times wonderful) blue-eyed soul songs.
    Holds up well.
