As the only version before this features (by all accounts) a version which doesn't manage to live up to Rob Schwitters' dope production, I'd put this one as the essential pre- Tommy Boy release. By the way, the instrumental version on this plate you won't hear in the you tube up loads- almost all are the edits from the Tommy Boy releases. Believe me, it's every bit as good, and every part as much a B-Boy classic, especially towards the end with frantic stabs, key changes & sampler mayhem.
Last word- don't overlook the vocal. It's incredible, and brings back the feeling of the era with raw emotion. Overlooked at the time, but now hugely appreciated...
