Comparing this with the original Deejay pressing I thought the opposite to Dj Bluey.

The cymbals through the intro sound brighter to me on this remaster, which is largely what I thought throughout the track.

I'll say the same here as I said on my review of the 2022 Meditation repress, which is that there's a fair amount of compression, which does impact on dynamics.

This seems to be the case with most remasters now. I suspect because making the quieter parts of a track louder creates the impression that we're hearing things we haven't before and will perceive this as greater clarity. That isn't the case, it's just that subtler details are now louder. The loudness wars aren't over.

I wish they'd give us as close a reproduction of the DAT as possible. In the end, what we'd really like is a mint copy of the original pressing.

I agree with haemingw below that the pressing is OK, not brilliant, but perfectly adequate. Those old Deejay pressings were always loud and the vinyl stood up to heavy use. I'm not sure these HJ pressings will stand up in the same way.

Was super excited to get this release.
I'll say this, as I own this original Deejay pressing I thought I'd put them up next to each other.
To my ears at least, the Deejay Recordings version seems a little more brighter at the top end and just tad more defined overall. (Which you'd expect from those Deejay Recordings masters).
I'd be interested know anyone else's thoughts?

This release is regularly available at the HJ homepage so don't pay the Discogs price.
Pressing is ok-ish (there seem to be some bubbles in the vinyl), the record plays fine, plus you get the digitals. Only minus point when ordering the record was that the guys running HJ are not very reliable. They forgot providing the tracking number and only sent one instead of the ordered 2 copies. Also they never answered my emails and explained the fact away during the Paypal conflict resolution process (so I never got a refund). HJ really need to up their game.

The 'Dubplate' mix was released in error on the 2007 reissue "DJ Crystl - Meditation / Warp Drive"
