- Edited 2 months agoThis album is completely and utterly masterful, original, creative, mature, well written, well produced, and a easy 10/10 release for even more reasons. Mike Browning sure kicked major ass after leaving Morbid Angel, I mean holy shit, this is a debut album?! Just incredible! Every band member is at their prime on here and it is clear to see. The guitar work is majorly beautiful and impressively complex and atmospheric, the drums are pummeling and technical, the bass is keeping everything together, the keyboards add a never before heard atmosphere and beauty to the heavy riffs that people probably thought not possible before this, and Mikes vocals just fit into all those instruments perfectly. This album is nothing short of pure musical mastery and genius. Everything works and fits together perfectly. And while being ultra technical and atmospheric, every single song is still super structured, catchy, and surprisingly melodic. This album actually blows my mind. Every track is essential and equally as good as the next. Very fortunate to own a original copy!
