Reviews
- What is the real print run for this one? I think it's obvious to suspect that Modular did a few quiet represses back in 2010 and there are about 3 to 5 thousand 45 RPM copies circulating. Definitely not 500.
- Great pressing of an album that drones to eternity. It sounds like if the Beatles grew balls and just played the same song for entire album. It’s the kind of trippy that makes you not want to trip. But the pressing is phenomenal. Solid.
- Edited one year agoWow just compared this with my 2010 UK press and it completely smokes it! It’s a complete 3D sound of instrument separation with a very crisp high end, also it’s cut a whole lot louder than the standard 33/3. The 33/3 in comparison is very flat and the high end is severely rolled off. You haven’t heard this album until you’ve heard this press.
Further compared with the 10th anniversary edition and which has better fidelity than the original press but this 45rpm still has better separation and high frequency extensions - Edited one year agoFinally grabbed a copy of this at a reasonable price. Very happy to own the 45 rpm!
Now, for individuals who claim that this pressing somehow pushes the album beyond its lofi origins, I disagree. If anything, the 45rpm emphasizes the fact that this is a lofi recording. And that's not a bad thing by the way... It's part of the album's DNA.
The 45rpm is a louder, dirtier, more detailed and raw presentation of the album. The high end is where this pressing excels the most.
Don't purchase this if you're looking for a (non-existent) polished presentation of the album but do purchase if you're looking for the most accurate representation available on vinyl. - Something up with the owner figure on this one. Currently over 2500 (for a version with 500 copies reportedly pressed), which suggests an awful lot of people aren't paying much attention to the version they own.
- I love every album they have released, all 10/10 to my ears. But let's get onto this one. Innerspeaker is such an innocent sounding fun record. Every song is memorable and has parts that you just love. I won't go into too much detail. But this has some of my favorite Tame songs like IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE (Great opener for a debut album, let's you know that Kevin Parker is no joke) DESIRE BE, DESIRE GO (Solo in the middle of the song is beastly at high volume and makes you tingle a little bit) ALTER EGO (Absolutely love this song. Who couldn't?) WHY WON'T YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND (Calming, beautiful, lush. Love it) JEREMY'S STORM (Chill instrumental that you can just zone out to) EXPECTATIONS (The opening guitar and then the drum beat, you know it's going to be a killer track. And that chorus too, oh yeah. Expectatioooonnnn is taking its toll) RUNWAY, HOUSES, CITY, CLOUDS (Probably my favorite song on the album, absolutely beautiful and the outro when you first here it will just make you so happy, like an extra long super tasty and buttery lick played over and over haha. Fantastic song that even took me two or three tries to like as much) Anyways..... This album is fantastic and really a good listen. And, not that it needs to be listened to in this fashion to enjoy, but if you do happen to indulge in the greenery before listening to this, it makes it a whole lot better ;) Buy it and enjoy. Then buy Lonerism and Currents.
- Hello - I bought my 2010 version and never opened it. Can anyone confirm that the barcode with the big numbers is the Australian 45rpm version? Thanks!!!
- I don't remember where or how I bought this to be honest. Probably at a merch stand. didn't even know I had the australian version. I do not know if this sounds better than a 33rpm normal version. I only like alter ego and expectation. pretty cool to be one of 500 people in the world to have this. This will only go up in value over time. I listened to Tame Impala new material and it is complete crap. He should have stopped making music after this release.
- I was lucky enough to pick up the original Aussie 45 pressing at the merch table when I saw the band at a legendary hole-in-the-wall (400 max capacity) on the 2010 Innerspeaker tour. I don't have a version of the 33 edition to compare but this first pressing sounds phenomenal! I got the 33rpm edition of Lonerism right when it was released, and it pales in comparison to the dynamics of this pressing. Grab a copy if you can!
- JESUSSSS... el álbum es una genialidad sinceramente para fumar mota mientras cuentas los cerdos en el cielo de Pink Floyd
