Reviews
- As JABS rightly notes below, this is a sonic knockout. DG truly put out their best vinyl in the late 1970s. Pro tip: Look for "Urheber" in rim text at 1 o'clock for assurance!
- After thorough research as to the best available pressing of La Traviata, I was lucky enough to acquire this version. The set was sealed and unplayed and therefore in an absolutely pristine condition.
Having said that, I was amazed by the sound quality right from the start. You can actually hear the soprano taking a breath before signing. The range is dynamic, raw and explosive. An absolute bombshell of a pressing. Only con was a bit of saturation on extremely high pitched notes by the soprano but that could be due to setup limitations. Would definitely recommend it to anyone collecting opera records.
