I love and adore this Album since it's first release 1981. I think it's still one of a kind. Ok, antecessor ’’Journal Violone II" has some similarities. But here one more absolutely enchanting female voice is added and one more reeds player also playing flute enchantingly (< yes again) as well as drums & perc.. So, the range from very fine and quiet monophonic/solo moments to all polyphonic combinations this sextet allows (including some overdubs I think) to intensive tuttis as well as the range from fully determined compositions with ravishing and (almost) incomparable melodies to fully free moments - which are intensive at times. But never any of these six great artists stopps listening and reacting attentively and classy to what the others do. And all of that is presented in a spatial an precise sound which seems otherworldly or outer space. Ok, enough well deserved praise phrases. HERE COMMES THE NEWS: For decades ECM offered this most precious gem only in LP-format. Still couldn't find anything else. BUT, at QOBUZ they offer legal downloads in CD- and Hi.Res-quality from - so it seems - a remaster done in 2018. No further information about that (for me). So, I didn't add and edit a new version here.
