Reviews
- No static issues with mine - pressing is nice, flat and no noise. I kinda prefer the mastering of the title track on the 2011 Knitting Factory pressing, which has the bass higher in the mix. Also, the jacket on that pressing is sturdier. BUT! overall the mastering on this LP is still very good and music on the second LP of this pressing makes it essential. Great Fela album overall.
- Vinyl is soft orange and green. Plays great. Sounds great. Nice packaging, especially the photo sleeves. This is one of Fela’s best albums. The additional tracks are really good too. Highly recommend.
- Pressing is outstanding. I didn't get any of the static others spoke about other than a small amount on the lead in grooves of each side. Once the music starts it's sublime. There's a crap ton of music jammed onto disc 2 so you'll absolutely have to turn the volume up a little more but that's hardly a complaint. A+ all around from me
- Lots of static, needs a good cleaning.
Afterwards the result is outstanding - those who were waiting for "trouble sleep yanga wake am" on vinyl - buy with confidence :) - Edited 2 years agoSounds really good for the most part. My Side B was absolutely filthy right out of the package. Lots of surface noise, will need to take a solution to it and see if that clears up some of the crackle. Worth cleaning this one possibly before first spin.
- Yes, sounds good, no surface noise on my copy - just a shame it had to be on such revolting coloured vinyl!
- Really really good. All the things you want - depth, width, clarity. Some surface noise on start of side 3
