- I spent a lot of my 20’s in various blissful states of mind listening to The Orb. This safe blue space was exceptionally healthy for the expanded mind, in comparison to the ridiculously heavy psychological experiences kids experience today. It has a melancholy that was perfect for a safe landing.
- I made a 57 minutes of Blue room with a couple of different vocal samples for those interested! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-vb9bEIGF8
- So ecstatically entranced with this timeless and groundbreaking immersion into parallel dimensions of otherworldy sound that I bent a personal guideline and picked up a record where one glorious long piece of music has been hacked in two. It was well worth it. Any different angle into this listening experience is most highly recommended. It's a lovely pressing and I don't mind the need to flip the thing over or the missing minute of the music. I know it's still out there.
- The 2 original versions of The Blue Room, aka parts 1 and 2 are for me: is the sound of what it feels like to be lying down having a happy trip on LSD, mushrooms or DMT. It's beautiful, sublime, mind bending, life changing stuff. Timothy Leary would have loved it 😊
- Trakology:
so the CD is the only continuous mix and is about a minute longer than the 12" that cuts the track in two and misses a minute
.
the FDWulf mix is well worth a listen as seems to have gone under the radar at the time, but has lasted well
>
Mad professor only available on CD2 and goes to show how much of a dub band they always were
:) - It was 25 years ago today. Fantastic collaboration between LX/Trash, Jah Wobble and System 7. In my all time top ten, heavenly ambient/techno.
