Reviews
- A fine album with many memorable moments. This was when Dexter Wansel took over MFSB, and it's all the better for it.
Of course, the title track is the standout. I just wish the song (not including the lovely string intro) were longer--with a long breakdown. (Remix in the works?)
Other highlights are "Old San Juan" & "Fortune Teller". - ahhh, my favorite MFSB album. too bad they quit with this one, they were just getting the sound to my taste!
- Edited 2 years agoI know that potentially i am going against the crowd but for me this is the weakest MFSB album. No particular track has the same DNA of the previous albums. No memorable grooves, nothing. I kept this in the collection just to complete the discography. "Thank You Miss Scott" its the best track for me.
- The musician, producer and arranger Dexter Wansel explains the production of this album: "Jack Faith, who passed away some years ago, and I, executive produced this album together. He was a wonderful arranger and kept me on my toes when I would write my arrangements. Ha ha ha. This particular song I composed in an effort to blend a funky groove, along with synthesis, and orchestral sounds. On this particular track there are 3 synthesizers: Oberheim 4 voice, Polymoog, and of course Arp 2600v. And as I remember, I recorded the track with the rhythm section, string, harp and flute players first. Then I added synthesis."
