- Great release from Beth.
I have the LE transparent press and aside from some clicks at the start of side 2 it's perfect.
The cover is nice but prone to pick up finger marks.
Purchased at the merch stand after her gig at Glastonbury so I'm lucky to have a signed personalised copy. - Edited one year agoDecent pressing. Mostly quiet. I had a standard black version but it was pretty scuffed. This one is much better.
Edit: just noticed that mine is pressed off-center. Visually noticeable on Side B, and audibly noticeable especially on B4. For me, it doesn't quite ruin the record (the slight warble even suits some of the songs and Beth's vibrato) but worth knowing about. Might drive you mad if you have perfect pitch or something. - Good and quiet pressing with heavy and good quality outer and inner sleeves. The music is also great, Orton's best work imo, and this is my favourite release of 2022 so far.
- Good pressing; flat, centred and no discernible surface noise. Crucially, Beth's voice comes through loud and clear and the backing has a pleasing hazy warmth to it. A big step up from hearing it on streaming services. Recommended.
- I can’t complain on the record quality. I was expecting worst after reading first reviews. This is likely her best album so far. Alabaster deplume brings a lot on some of the songs. Great work.
- Personally I can't complain about this pressing ! It is pretty quiet and it does justice to the breathy atmosphere of this beautiful album
- It makes me wonder why people even bother buying new vinyl pressings anymore. Read the comments on any new LP pressing and they are inevitably negative. I have grown weary of this industry ripoff and have switched back to buying cds. They’re half the price and sound better.
- Disappointing pressing. Not the worst by any meansbut just not good enough. A phenomenal album which deserved better. Sadly a familiar story.
