'Moribund', indeed sampled by Kick's Like Mule for 1992's 'The Bouncer', though I suspect it was actually the remix that inspired & got bitten https://www.discogs.com/release/13273-Frank-De-Wulf-Beyond-The-B-Sides

Even more interestingly, also from 0:50 onwards you will here a doppelganger of Joey Beltram's 'Energy Flash'. The bass & stabs are the same patterns. Exactly.

So... Who came 1st? My guess is FDW. So many artists were listening to Belgium's revolutionary techno & taking notes.

'Imagination' is the greatest atmosphere builder; that acid sounds like its freshly being poured out a hot car battery. what a tune!!!

The Moribund riff, The Tape riff and the similar Modular Expansion riff were sampled quite a bit back then on many tunes. This one from mid 1991 also comes to mind Exterminator - Happiness.

Not sure I agree that this is the best of Frank de Wulf. To me B-sides 2 and 3 are absolute mindbenders,. This one is great, but all tracks are more soft and synthetic, less rave and banging than "Magic orchestra" for ex. But the overall quality si still a great 17/20

Moribund - base-sound plagiators & played at single "Kick Like A Mule" 1991 year in England!

I can practically smell the smoke every time I hear Traffic.

This is the best and ruffest of b-sides series with excellent 4 tracks.
''Moribund'' and ''Moral Soundabuse'' which are the best tunes of the ep, are clearly killer oldskool '90 Belgian techno hunting numbers, with stabs, more on a '91 tip, presenting exactly the feeling of that period. ''Traffic'' is an ahead of it's time techno with a harder beat that could have been easily released any year in laters dance music, while ''Imagination'' is an acid trance track and totally different than the other 3.
Bravo Frank De Wulf for this epic release!
