- Edited 2 months agoBeautiful album. I was lucky to be able to catch them live at National Sawdust in Brooklyn last weekend as part of Winter Jazz Fest. Such a great show! I had been listening to the album for a couple of months already and I finally decided to buy it. A treasure for the collection. Wonderful gatefold jacket too.
I have to agree with Discoconuts. The last track is a real disappointment. A unfortunate conclusion to a warm, spiritual journey. I hated it on the first listen, but I hoped it would grow on me over time. It didn’t. It should never have made the cut. It can ruin the whole vibe if you let it. Usually I’m ending this record after “Orbit” if I can remember to stop play in time. I’m not going to knock off a star for it because I just love this album so much. It’s more like a 4.5/5 for me. The last track is the only thing holding this record back from perfection. - More atmospheric than ambient despite the fact that these words seems to be synonyms. A good companion to Jeremiah Chiu's album on the same label. The label knows how to make thing right. The last track though, "Existence", is pure dispensable bullshit. The album would have been much better with a closing instrumental track.
