When you title an album LANGUAGE IS THE MOST (as AGF has), you don't expect much in the way of lyrics. Instead, as "Loading/Code in the Noodle Soup" shows, the lyrics are broken into layered and refracted phrases (both English and German) over a slight beat that gives way to an empty soundscape. But "Reduced Trust" gets into a glitchy sort of gentle folk that sets forth a floating mood that will carry through the rest of the album, from the calm of "White Flip Flops" to the drifting talk-sing of "Schlauchtraumstimmen/Leerzeile." When rhythmic elements are introduced, like the snatches of beat and bass on "Salmiakki Pattern," they're relegated far to the background. More than anything, this album is about evolution: the tracks all continually shift, both within themselves and away from each other. The hints of electro at the start of "Delusion" make way for the jazz sax and rooster of "Arriving" (or, with "Burning Fraquencies," jazz sax and reversed lyrics). The drone of "Un-De-Buged" closes the album, just in time to leave you speechless.
