Reviews
- My copy has a repeating tick across all of side A - nothing visible, so it has to be in the pressing. Side B has a large blister type bump on the vinyl at the end of last track. It plays, but with noise. I've had good luck with other VMP releases, but this is awful.
- Looks beautiful and sounds very good. Not a silent pressing, but vinyl records generally are not silent, if by silent you actually mean silent. It's a reasonably quiet pressing, but there is a little bit of crackle here and there, nothing too instrusive. Those great silences in "Dr Feelgood" really come across, and the slight noise problems on the pressing thankfully do not make themselves known at those moments!
Just in terms of vinyl, this is not as great as VMP's "Spirit in the Dark", but it's well worth having. Now, if I can just pick up a copy of their pressing of "Aretha Now", I will have all three!
But when will someone reissue Aretha's last four Atlantic albums???? Especially "LA Diva"! I use to love that record, but my copy got lost several moves ago and I would love to get another one. None of those records are on CD! - Well.... two copies and both have ticking pretty much all the way through the title track...
Is beautiful and sounds great otherwise
I was very unhappy at first, but now that I have two copies for the price of one, I'll drop the "very"
Going to give one copy to my guy at my LRS - This pressing is amazing. The color is great the sound of the record in mono is full and centered and sounds really good. The record is silent no pops the jacket is extremely nice. Very premium presentation all around a must have for this classic.
