Mfd. in U.K.
This version is the "first label, revised cover" version:
Dark green labels with a whole apple on the A-side label and a half, sliced-open apple on B-side. The labels have the "(An E.M.I. Recording)" text on two lines and small "33 1/3" text moved to the left side. Publishing year printed with a small ℗ symbol. The B-side label does not have "Her Majesty" credits. The labels are quite dark, although the actual shade of green varies between copies.

Some copies were packaged with a die-cut black inner sleeve.

Show All 31 Reviews- This sounds absolutely vibrant, explosive, and fantastic!!! I also own Australian late 70’s, Blue Box, US Capitol purple, newer reissues etc. Never heard it like this!!
- Hi there, my copy seems to be the "firet label, revised cover"-version, but has a slightly different runout Matrix YEX.749 - 4 and YEX.750 - 3.
I couldn`t find another release with this number. Is anyone there who can give me a hint? - These UK First Pressings man, Abbey Road will never sound better than this right here. I love the remix too, but this is the closest you can be to the master tape, and it shows by presenting an amazing stereo image and extremely punchy bass.
- My copy of this sounds excellent. Full and punchy bottom end and crystal clear instrument separation.
- I’ve got what I think is a first label revised cover version so the apple is not misaligned and the cover picture shows the drain but I still have the black inner sleeve. Is this correct? Thanks
- Edited one year agoHELP NEEDED PLEASE!
I have all the hallmarks of this pressing ASIDE FROM the Apple is mislaigned at the rear. It also has a white sleeve with Patent No. 1,125,555, on the bottom left hand side. Also, MADE IN ENGLAND on the bottom right had side.
Characteristics:
PCS 7088
Matrix No. - Side 1 - YEX 749 - 2 (Stamper Code - OGR 6) Side 2 - 750 - 1 (Stamper Code MGQ 7)
As stated: Everything follows the details in the notes below but THE APPLE IS MISALIGNED!!! Is it possible this is a RARE VARIANT????

Cover - Drain is showing - I have what I think is this copy, it has all the right attributes, but with a pinched sleeve. I can't see any info on this. Anyone know anything this? thanks in advance
- Edited 2 years ago"The one and only", mastered by Martin and Emerick and cut by Malcolm Davies.
Paul's bass is front and center, but spread out evenly with the other instruments so nothing overpowers the mix, not unlike US pressings where the mid-range is boosted and lacks the shimmer and definition found here. It was cut quiet, so you'll need to turn up the volume to get the full effect, but man, it is out of this world! It features an amazing soundstage that gives you an "in the studio with the band" feel. I still can't get over how good this sounds, there's so much more openness and depth to everything - not only my favorite Beatles album, but HANDS DOWN the BEST Beatles pressing of them all.
