A quite rushed release of album tracks, b-sides and remixes, featuring completely duplicate tracks. Originally released as a US only promo, the "Rarities" CD featured Emiliana smoking a cigarette as a front cover. Later in 2009, the compilation was reissued in Europe, however, Emiliana had sudden success with Jungle Drum around German speaking countries so this release is featuring a more "Me and Armini" (her latest album back then) like design and a new cover artwork. The sound quality of the release is great, however, this is just a re-compilation of her existing CD singles from the 1999 "Love In The Time Of Science" era, and unfortunately, the selection of tracks is absolutely not well done. What you are getting are 6 album tracks (To Be Free, Easy, Dead Things, Wednesday's Child, Tuna Fish, Baby Blue) out of the album "Love In The Time Of Science", which features 11 tracks overall. You also get some duplicates such as Unemployed In Summertime (Dreemhouse Unemployed Club Mix) and Unemployed In Summertime (Dreemhouse Mix); Easy (Video Version) and Easy (Tore Johansson Edit); and also some nice B-Sides and Remixes. In fact, One Little Indian could have made this compilation really worthy by including truly rare remixes from that era, some of them only available on vinyl and promo CDs. Here are some remixes that could have been on this release: To Be Free (Jadell Mix), To Be Free (Marius De Vries Mix), To Be Free (Dillon & Dickens Rub A Dub Dub), To Be Free (Futureshock Dub), To Be Free (Raw Deal Instrumental), To Be Free (Jadell Instrumental Mix), Baby Blue (Joey Musaphia Rebirth Mix), Baby Blue (Joey Musaphia Rebirth Dub), Baby Blue (Bonus Beats), Baby Blue (Dom T's DJ's Delight Mix), Baby Blue (Mick's Discotizer Mix), Baby Blue (Dom T's DJ's Delight Instrumental), Unemployed In Summertime (Dreamhouse Dub), Unemployed In Summertime (Junior's Summer Dub), Unemployed In Summertime (Junior's Acapella), as well as the live versions of To Be Free and Summer Breeze, featured on a french release of the LITTOS album. These tracks are owned by One Little Indian, and the quality of these remixes, especially the Baby Blue ones, is really great. Also probably not owned by One Little Indian, we have the original version of the track Telepathy and a track called Come Out. Overall, not a bad compilation, but badly executed when it comes to song choices. Fingers crossed listening to CD quality of the above-mentioned remixes.
