Another entry needs created for the Canadian GZ pressings.. Unfortunately my copy was pressed there, not at Optimal in Germany.

This release sounds great. Don't get bogged down with with the digital transfer and any negativity that people want to spin on it, I don't think most people leaving there two cents even understand what is taking place to make these records. I'm not sure I do, but if it sounds great on my system, I'm good with that. What are you buying it for anyways?

I prefer this 2022 release over the 2016 one. https://www.discogs.com/release/8422961-Guns-N-Roses-Use-Your-Illusion-II
Better separation and vocals are now imaging in the middle. Harshness in Vocals and some lead guitar are gone.

          Update:

“Remastered for the First-Time Ever from High-Resolution 96kHz 24-bit Transfers from the Original Stereo 1/2-Inch Analog Master Tapes”.

We all knew it was a digital remaster (even with the sleazy gimmicks used on the hype sticker to mislead). For what it’s worth, my first pressing from 1991 sounds much better. I also had a pressing from 2016 I believe and it doesn’t sound much different than this release. Verdict is in, go for a first pressing.

How do these 2022 reissues sound compared to the original 91’ pressings? Thanks

Night and day difference from the 08 Geffen. Very little surface noise. Just a tiny bit muddy on the highs here and there, but otherwise sounds really good.
