- This show and the records do indeed sound great. Side D on my and a friends copy had numerous pock marks. My copy has about two dozen spread out across the second half.
- Willie Nelson for President.
Paul English for Vice.
‘Nuf said.
Willie’s first in Japan is nothing short of a look in time at one of country’s greatest in peak form. Every song is a hit, with the roaring introduction of” Whiskey River” to amazing renditions of Kristofferson classics such as “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night” as well as the other numerous covers and classics Willie is best known for. The Willie Nelson Family perfectly weaves together the tales of love, loss, and outlaws from Bobbie Nelson’s (RIP) piano to Mickey Raphael’s soulful wailing on the harmonica to the rough, but soft voice of the titular man himself. If Record Store Day had a “must-have” for this Black Friday, it would certainly be this.
