- Reluctantly bought this because i was to impatient to wait for a US standard pressing but Sound wise i cant even tell this is a picture disc it sounds very good.
(Played on an RT82)
Very nice thick card stock to and beautiful art
10/10 for pic discs - Edited one month agoLooks nice. Get the discs out of the PVC sleeves and into some poly-lined, anti-statics. No unacceptable pressing errors resulting in unavoidable skips like the Wild Mood Swings picture disc. The noise floor is decent considering this is a picture disc. I own a Spanish 1992 press, a Greek 1992 press, the German 2020 bootleg and this 2022 picture disc. I rank this 3rd just under the Greek press. The Spanish pressing is INCREDIBLE and worth seeking out if you truly want to hear this album in all its glory. I look forward to the black vinyl reissue which will arrive here in the States in early 2023.
- Edited 2 months agoI usually don’t screw around with picture discs, because most of them sound awful. However, I was pleasantly surprised how good this one sounds. I agree with the earlier commenter about the initial beginning surface noise on side a, but it just vanished in the overall mix and punch of things. I live in North America so I’ll have to wait until January for the 2xLP black vinyl version, which I’ll also buy, but this is MORE than an adequate place holder until then. One of my favorite albums of all time. I give this version a B+ overall which, for picture discs, is more like A+++.
- I purchased this on a whim, not realizing that it was a picture disc, I usually avoid them….
It’s not bad actually, might be one of the better sounding picture discs in my collection, initial lead into first track on each side is noisy but that noise floor gets buried and kind of disappears into the cuts. I can actually listen to this. 😂❤️🔊🔊 - What’s the difference between US and Euro version (other than shipping cost, obvs)? Is one better than the other?
- Edited 2 months agoGood sounding despite being a picture disc...but why they keep doing this to us? Why reissue hard to find LPs like "Bloodflowers", "Wild Mood Swings" and now "Wish" as ugly (especially the round die-cut cover) picture discs?
Frustrated fan venting apart this is luckily better sounding than "Wild Mood Swings" and that alone makes it worth it if you're a hardcore fan.... - Are they not pressing a standard/black vinyl edition of this in North America? Will opt for the CDs over a picture disc.
