Only 745 people have added this to their collection on Discogs, so there is no way there were 10,000 of these pressed. My guess would be 2,000 copies. I bought this from their website and it sold out very quickly.- The album is very weak. Lots of repetitions from previous albums. The sound is also very compressed. The vocals are muddy and hard to read. The songs are very similar. Expectations were high, but unfortunately this album turned out worse than Hardwired. I do not recommend to buy.
On my copy, the pressing of Disc 2 is terrible... The head of my turntable's arm is shaking from left to right and I am getting nauseous looking at it, or even hearing the terrible effect on the sound...
The pressing of Disc 1 was very fine... and Disc 2 on my other copies is also fine...
Too bad I can't ask for a replacement at Metallica Webstore as it is sold out... :'-(
I contacted the Metallica US web store to ask how many copies of the Yellow Splatter had been manufactured and their reply stated that they didn’t have the exact figure but it was definitely less that 5000.
This is going regularly for over 200 on EBay and I saw a few were sold here for 250-300 but all those sales have been deleted, strange
This record absolutely rocks and sounds great! It's unfortunate that scammers buy these records only to flip with no intention of ever listening to the music, but that's the world we live in.
A collector's item for sure!
Be aware of scammers. There are very low price LP being sold that look too good to be true.- It may not be their best LP (what does it mean anyways? No one can seriously compare it to their 80s releases) but still there are some bangers (e.g., the title track, Lux Æterna, Inamorata); two songs could have been removed because they are average. The production is not as great as Hardwired (in the latter, the music "breathes" more) but not bad to the point to affect the listening experience. James' voice is still great considering he is almost 60. The sleeve color stands out, it is an exciting addition to my collection.
Do any of you know the number of copies pressed in Lp Yellow Black Splatter and Smoky Black?
