according to Adonis himself, this is the first house record on DJ International to use the TB303

For those slap happy DJ's buying on this page, be aware sellers are lazily listing the 2014 re-issues here in the OG section. If ordering here, request a check (if the item is un sealed) that the etchings in the runout match EXACTLY to the ones detailed above on this page- otherwise you have paid too much for a far less valuable reissue made over 25 years later, or to be more accurate, unauthorized bootleg...

The vocal on this track always guaranteed to make me chuckle. Also made me and my mates laugh hard particularly under the influence. Because we were a bit infantile like that, on occasion. Things haven't changed much to be perfectly honest :-O

I mean the vocal snippets are all over the place. Adonis chopping them up into a percussive frenzy. The 303 sounds so sneaky, cute and mischievious.

Getting back to the silliness of it all. It's the bit where the sample says "poke it!... now poke it... house music!" It always sounded like "old bill" to us. In fact we dubbed this track the "old bill tune". Old bill is London (UK) slang for the police. Alternative names; the bill, pc plod, cops, bizzies, babylon (for the mesopotamian diaspora 3500 B.C. and counting massive) etc. It was a kind of backdrop to our lifestyle at the time. Trying to avoid the "old bill" whilst attending unlicensed clubs, raves etc.

On with the music... simple 303 bassline, gritty, tight ass percussion, mad samples. And there you are :)

An excellent release with an intense sound that rivals Phutures "acid trax" or Armandos "151"(remix on acid house lp,jack trax records)with twittering 303 at its most original and raw.(dont get confused with the Desire Records release, this was a later remix)
