When Barbara Mandrell started her solo career, producer Billy Sherrill took her under his wings. Success was more or less guaranteed that way, just check out the careers of other superstars like Tammy Wynette, George Jones, David Houston, Charlie Rich and others. Barbara went to be more pop later but this album is country all the way. "The Midnight Oil" was a #7 country hit, other songs also made it to the charts ("Holdin' On To The Love I Got" #27, "Tonight My Baby's Coming Home" #10 and "Give A Little, Take A Little" #24.
