- Edited 9 years agoApparently, the Miracles Club are a bunch of Portland hipsters paying homage to acid house (Chicago but also London - see their 'ironic' and 'tongue-in-cheek' parody video of 80s UK dance TV shows on "Church Song"). Their music is not that bad actually, sort of contemporary indie/lo-fi take on early house, made with genuine love for the originals. And this is where they hit the spot on this record : their cover of "Can You Feel It", with the extra 'dramatic' chillwavey synths pads and voice mantra, is actually quite magical, a very clever and respectful cover if you past this slightly 'over-the-top' appearance.
In fact Miracles Club are adding just the right elements to update the vibe of this classic (to something more lost and desperate, fitting the current zeitgeist) whilst retaining the core of its soul. Very well done, a perfect set closer.
