Notes
Extensive compilation of almost everything Gilberto Gil recorded between 1966 and 1977 under his tenure with the Philips label. Excluded are the albums whose rights Gilberto Gil took with him to Elektra and WEA labels when he left Philips ('Refazenda' from 1975 and 'Refavela' from 1977), the collaborative albums ('Xangô Ogum' from 1975 and 'Doces Bárbaros' from 1976) and the split album 'Antologia do Samba Choro' (his last recordings for Philips released in 1978).
All the albums are presented with bonus tracks and there are five CDs with mostly previously unreleased material (outtakes, demos and live tracks). Tracks 1-13, 1-14, 2-11 to 2-14, 3-10 to 3-14, 5-9 to 5-11, 6-10 to 6-12, 9-7 to 9-11 are bonus tracks.
"Cidade do Salvador" in made up of recordings made between February 1973 and February 1974 for an incomplete and never released album, all tracks are previously unreleased apart from the following:

8-4, 8-6 previously released as Maracatú Atômico (1974)
8-7 previously released in Os Últimos Dias de Paupéria (Todo Dia é Dia D / Três Da Madrugada) (1973)
8-8 previously released in Lupiscínio Rodrigues Na Interpretação De Caetano Veloso, Elis Regina, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil (1974)
(7-5 is the "take 1", as the "take 2" of this song was previously released in Refazenda (1975) with an added Dominguinhos contribution overdubbed).
The boxset includes a large hardcover booklet with rare photographs, memorabilia and a bonus CD (CD13 - Que Besteira). All other CDs are presented in Jewelcases.
