The title is misleading. There is a lot of crap on it. Many tracks are not really EBM but Future Pop and Trancewhackedgoregalore. All these Hard-Trance sounds and sterile Tekkno beats - I got bored of it very quickly. I counted approx. 20-25 useful tracks on all 4 CDs. And that's not enough.
For a change, at the outset of the New Year a review about a label Compilation. Perhaps the best Dark Electro - Minimal Electronic - EBM sampler I heard this far. The 10th year anniversary of the Belgian electronic label "Alfa Matrix" was the occasion for releasing this box, containing 112 songs on 4 CDs + additional downloads, as well as a T-Shirt.
¾ of the tracks are previously unreleased or rare stuff from Old School EBM Bands like: Portion Control "Amnesia" or new titles by EBM pioneers like: Poesie Noire "We'll Die Dancing", Dark Electro type titles à la Noisuf - X "Fucking Invective" spreading out to Minimal Electronic: Isis Signum Feat. Drey - "Music Is My Heart (Alternative Version)".
Jäger 90 is featured by: "Der Verzicht"(The Sacrifice), which sounds suspiciously like DAF (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft). Sturm Café - "Die Wahrheit" (The Truth), Nitzer Ebb with German lyrics?, a short but fine dance-track. The tag "Aggrotech" is featured too, with bands like Funker Vogt and Nachtmahr.
A compilation which works great as an access point to the world of Electronic Body Music of the past, leading towards today's acts.
Putting together this amount of material, without any weak spots is really impressive.
