Reviews
- Edited 16 years agoI remember writing a paper on this CD in college for a music class because I liked it so much when it originally came out. This is right about the time when Eyedea was a relentless battle MC (winning the Blaze Battles) but there are only a few tracks of this style on this album. Otherwise the lyrics are very deep, poetic, and highly introspective. I remember being blown away by some of the concepts he pieces together with such fluidity, and all this laid over some highly intricate beats by no other than DJ Abilities. Most of these tracks have had a difficult journey withstanding the test of time, but First Born still remains one of my favorite intelligent hip hop albums.
