I bought this for like $35 at my local record store. How are people selling this for over $120 now?

This really doesn't need to be a 3LP lmao but I'll buy it anyway because it's like my favorite album. And to see if it really does soumd as bad as people say it is. Also how many copies were pressed? Because it says limited edition but then it gets in and out of stock sometimes on amazon

It's a shame that all the lights and the last track sound like garbage on vinyl. The digital sounds way better... Like seriously why you going to waste the money for premium vinyl and have a shit master?.... Can't wait till the remaster it though... It could be done perfectly on two records. Keep in mind this album was printed on vinyl when it was somewhat of a new thing again.

You've come to the wrong album if you expect an "audiophile" masterpiece. If you think the album sounds rough (as in, the way it's supposed to) spread across 3 LPs, I can only imagine how poor a 2LP pressing would be.

It's not unreasonable whatsoever for a song as loud, distorted and with a low end stereo-field as wide as Monster to take up an entire side if they wanted to retain the intended sound of the song. That's just how mastering for vinyl works and Ray Janos did a great job pressing a very loud/distorted mix/master. Power, Monster and Runaway sound fantastic, intended distortion and all. I will say that Hell of a Life sounds the "worst" as the final moments of the song push the format to its limits.

If you have a good turntable and cartridge you'll experience little to no sibilance throughout, which is impressive considering how harsh the vocals are mixed throughout the album.

Regardless of any opinions related to "loudness", this album is a sonic masterpiece and this vinyl pressing retains that very well on top of coming in beautiful packaging.

Amazing album and beautiful packaging, definitely my favorite I own. The 3xLP is annoying, but vinyl is already pretty much the most inconvenient way to listen to music there is right now, so if you are listening for practicality you should probably just connect your phone to a speaker. This is definitely a collectors item, there are interchangeable covers that also work as individual pieces of art, as well as a foldable poster and a well constructed gatefold. The pressing is really not that great though which is rough but mine was still enjoyable to listen to. There were a fair amount of skips but I also don't have a good way to clean my records at the moment so I'm not sure which were due to dirt and which were the pressing. I would say expect some rough parts though. Definitely don't pay the insane prices on here and ebay, it's not worth more than retail price considering the added inconvenience of the 3xLP and the meh pressing. I found this at a Newbury Comics for about 30 bucks around a month ago, look around and you'll probably find a bunch of copies floating around. It's also sure to be re-stocked soon, in about a month or so it will be back on sale for probably less than I paid for it. Don't waste your money paying mark-ups right now.
3xLP is annoying, pressing is meh. Packaging is great, big fans will really love this. Don't pay more than retail.

I think what people are misunderstanding is the album was very compressed and loud to begin with. IMO it sounds fine.

I sold my copy. The packaging is beautiful, but the sound is heavily compressed. If you're even a newbie audiophile, you can imagine how dynamic "Monster" or "All of the Lights" should sound if it was produced and mastered well. It's a tragedy how bad this record sounds. It deserves better.

Very compressed and irrelevant sound. Same on the hi-res digital copy. I think maybe the problem is the master. Very sad that a masterpiece have been very badly recording.

not so "good sounding". Overall cover packaging and graphic are great but, it sounds a little bit muddy. More "wow" effect than substance....
