Tuff Jam paid homage to the Armand/CJ Bolland Remix on their "Even Closer" version (which was confirmed by Karl Brown on a recent Instagram post that they looked to replay the classic bassline).

This remix also inadvertently caused an issue with Tony Humphries who was quite vocal about the (then) rising UK Garage movement not being "real Garage" (particularly Speed Garage), but was caught playing the Tuff Jam Remix in his own sets.

The Club Mix on this version is not the one listed as Clubmix video below on YT, even though label looks the same. Must be one of the European 12s.

A track more than any that changed house music in the UK. The underground house sound played in London from 93-97 was US dubs (MK mixes, Todd Edwards, MAW etc) of classic tracks plus some good (but mainly bad) UK attemps at US sounds.

This track split music in the UK because Tony Humphries played it on one of his legendary tours. From memory he told the press that he thought it was a Hippy Torales track, probably because of Rosie Gaines earlier (and better) track "I want u".

However this track was already big on the UK underground scene (which was beginning to be called UK Garage) and with Humphries giving the track the thumbs up, the UK scene felt he was playing one there own tunes and they had come of age.

Sounds silly now but really this track caused a ton of commotion at the time, it also went top 10 in the UK.
