A/B is recorded ~2-3db higher than C/D. Interesting. Sounds amazing. I have not heard any other vinyl versions of this, but I can say without a doubt that this is the cleanest and punchiest version I have ever heard. The first disc is pressed like a 45rpm - 2-tracks per side, with LOTS of groove space. Second disc is squished down a tad, but sounds equally great, quality-wise. Just adjust your phono preamp gain a bit, and it's the same as the first disc.

How does this one sound in comparison to the 2012 reissue that everyone raves about?

Shot in the dark but if anyone is willing to part with JUST the first record(A/B)than please let me know. I got a copy of this for free today and was so excited I didn’t notice the first disc was missing lol.

From 1996 to 2000 I was working in a record store. As a rule, as "subculture heads" we were allowed to order and sell what our proposed target client (from our very personal understanding) would like to pick and buy.
At that time, in general another Prodigy album was mutually anticipated. Instead, a bunch of singles/EPs were published what served excellently but made us guess: if it weren't half of the tracks known already the album itself would be considered a masterpiece. Still, I have no idea why they published so many wonderful tracks before making this album available...

The reason this album was included in 1001 albums you must hear before you die, must be to sense how things were back at the time: 80% was about presentation, 20% about the music. Tailor made for readers of lads mags like "Loaded".

Just picked this up very cheap at a local record fair.

Its near mint condition, it looks like it's essentially never been played.

I'm hesitant to play it, tempted to hold onto it and not play it but where's the fun in that?
