Forget the two singles on this disc - you can get "Any Time, Any Place" and "Throb" elsewhere. The keeper here is the non-album "B-side" track "And On And On" - a song that's already become a perennial summertime "chill-out anthem" of sorts in the States. The song wasn't a throwaway filler track from her album of the day, "janet." --- quite the opposite, actually... Janet recorded the song specifically for the "Any Time" single release and there's a mellow, laid-back, bob-your-head attitude throughout the song reminiscent of songs like "On A Sunday Afternoon" by A Lighter Shade Of Brown or Crystal Waters' "Say... If You Feel Alright" - a vibe Ms. Jackson has never really duplicated on any other release... which makes the song a summertime essential that'll be played for years to come - not bad for a "B-side"...
