Will pay good money for an original first pressing of this as long as it is in at least Excellent condition.

The '94 Abbey Road CD remaster had a rerelease on the following year (1995), and this release is missing here. It had a different bar code than the '94 release, but also had the same catalog number from the 2010 remaster.

This may very well be the greatest album ever made; It compares favorably to 'Pet Sounds,' 'Sgt. Pepper' and other records which are typically awarded that distinction. Though legendary among heads, it's criminally and tragically unknown to the wider public (outside of Brazil) for such a tremendous album: Unsurprisingly, the mainstream or 'indie' music press is too busy lionizing our UK/US gothic genius period beyond all reason to notice even the very strongest music made elsewhere in the world. Furthermore, there is no singular mastermind or troubled visionary/control-freak here (and we all know how much music journalists love a focal point), though a teenage Lo Borges contributes several highlights. Crucially, this album is the product of the organic collusion that occurs between several precociously talented musical personalities - people who've probably played music all day, every day of their lives since childhood - playing together in a room. It is not meticulously or painstakingly constructed. It's a little loose, a little spontaneous, a little out of tune. But like the best of the Beatles' output, this is one of very few albums in existence that one would recommended without reservation to any music fan, regardless of age or genre affiliations, so universal is its potential appeal. While there is a very nice CD reissue in print which was remastered at Abbey Road under the supervision of Milton Nascimento himself, the first Brazilian pressing is indeed wonderful-sounding - the best i've heard, certainly worth seeking out if you're a fan of the album (and if you've heard it, you're a fan).
