Edited 3 months agoThis is a great collection that the pressing sounds fantastic! I do wish it always a gatefold but whatever. Also, if there was one edit choice would be to replace The Beds to Big Without You with Driven To Tears instead but nothing is perfect. Highly recommended!
The music sounds pretty good, although the high end seems to be muted somewhat. The pressing is nice enough - both records are clean and quiet. The packaging is as bare-bones as it could possibly be - no gatefold, no printed inners, no lyrics, no photos, nothing. But let's put it on 180 gram vinyl for no reason, so we can charge more. Glad I got this on sale, I'd be disappointed if I'd paid more than $20 for it.- Sounds great to me. Lots of bass, good separation and crystal clear. No noise as expected from Optimal.
Edited 8 months agoI had big expectations, and this overwhelmed me. Absolutely brilliant sounding vinyl in very good antistatic inner sleeves. A pressing to have. The Abbey Road half speed mastering sounds really good. Only things i have to mention: would be greater Album with lyrics on it or a gatefold edition. But the Music and quality is nearly reference for me.
Edited 9 months agoIt’s OK. Needs an amp with some bass and treble adjust for the best sound. On mine it’s decent. I don’t think the songs were recorded at a high quality back in the day so considering that - this record is very good. I have a few static spots.
Great pressing. Sounds great, no pops or skips. Worth buying!- The sound on this is absolutely incredible! I own a lot of OG Police and Sting records and this potentially sounds better. I'm definitely hearing things I'd never hear before. Crystal clear, warm, deep bass. This is really good!
Dull, flat and terrible pressing. Don’t understand if the other reviewers have a different record, but my copy sounds like a typical ‘let’s make a quick buck and throw something bad out’ type of release. Shame as the songs are great. But I have old copies and cds sounding 10x better and more ‘Alive’. Shame.
Great sounding record! The mastering is spot on and the pressing is clean.
Disappointingly this 2023 reissue is not a gatefold album! If you want to have the gatefold, go for the 2022 reissue and has more photos to see rather this release.
Sound quality wise, it sounds really, really good! Well-mastered!
