Superb press... Nice and clear and the best album they have released this century... I have the clear vinyl press, which is lovely, but the etching doesn't stand out as well as I could have on clear vinyl.- Can we have a version listed separately, that comes with the signed album art print, available in limited quantities from the Depeche Mode store on day of release.
- The vinyl does sound great on the whole but on the very final track on side 3 there is some noise and distortion on the right channel, and no, it’s not the bit-crusher effect near the end. I have compared it to an HD stream with headphones and I’m sure it’s a pressing issue.
Shame, the rest sounds awesome.
Is it worth asking for a replacement or will all the pressings be the same, ordered it direct from the DM shop?
Don’t have much luck with new DM vinyl, my UK 1st pressing of Violator was a noisy pressing and I wish I’d returned it for another but I was relatively young at the time and ended up buying the CD instead, of course now it would cost so much to get another 1st pressing that I’ll probably end up getting a repress. - Edited one month agoI purchased my copy from their U.S. store, but it is now sold out. This is not UK store only.
Excellent album . This is Depeche Mode. I did not hear it on YT or Spotify.Waiting to put it on the turntable.
I pre-order it day one from the DM store . It came to Greece 2 weeks after the release .
The pressing seems a bit overspeed. I particularly felt it on "Ghosts again" which is a little bit faster than on Youtube or other radios airing. It was confirmed when playing guitar along, as my own guitar seemed out of tune, while it was perfectly setup.
Anybody else got that feeling?
I bought this in a Dutch record store, so definitely not a release unique to the UK store. (The sticker said Opaque Red, which it clearly was not )
Good album, nice quiet pressing but ridiculously overpriced at £45.00, what are they thinking?
The sonics on this translucent red pressing are superb - this is one of the best modern pressings I've heard in quite some time. From My Perfect Stranger onwards, this album is an absolute joy, so many brilliantly subtle hooks with many layers. This is Mode's finest album since Ultra and Memento may ever surpass the brilliance of that 1997 release. Grab this copy whilst you can and roll on Twickenham!
