King Mzaiza Music, U-Girl, Fezela, Da Goons, Alligator de kgamadal – Sithi Sithi

PSSNGR is very proud to release King Mzaiza’s new single. Let’s be clear : "Sithi Sithi" could well be a huge Umbhoqo hit, maybe a global one. First, there’s this massive syncopated beat, halfway between Barcardi classic “Township Funk” by Mujava and more contemporary SA sounds like Amapiano and Gqom. Then talented vocalist U-Girl delivers an unbelievable hook, reminiscent of Jamaican female dancehall tunes but with a typical Gauteng flavour. This is the sound of Umbhoqo, this is the sound of Skhothanes ! Then vocalists Fezela, Da Goons and Alligator are rapping their verses in a chill way, contrasting with the excitement of U-Girl’s chorus. “Sithi Sithi” means “We say”, and is described by its creators by being about nothing specific – a vibe was just flowing in the studio and the words came. To quote them : “It is basically a dance track that talks about entertainment and fun.’ The video showcases Skothanes’ in their clubs and bars and dedicated shops, wearing their incredible outfits, inspired by Italian fashion and cycling wear. King Mzaiza Music is record label that was established by King Mzaiza in 2020. After its’ conception it had Fafastra as their first artist and went on to sign TLS. U-GIRL was featured in one of Fafastra’s tracks and after that she was signed under the label. The label later signed Fezela, Da Goons and Alligator who were the up-and-coming artists. Intense stuff from the Umbhoqo camp ! It’s coming from the future, and this is now out on PSSNGR, always dedicated to promote emerging African electronic music.
