Don’t be fooled by the generic cover, it conceals a bunch of gems!
This LP by an obscure Toronto group offers the ripping pogo-punk of “Fighter Plane” and the fast ’77 style punk rock of “Test Tube Baby,” “Bruised & Beaten,” “Talk It Over,” “Goodbye Carol” or even “Allies” (featuring Dee Dee Ramone under the transparent pseudonym Drago D. Ramone, contributing whistles and “hoorays”), as well as gorgeous powerpop tunes like “Run Away.”
Rex Chainbelt had previously been the drummer in The Poles, one of the very first Canadian punk bands to make a record (“C.N. Tower”).
Unfortunately, this LP got zero distribution, and the group disbanded shortly after it came out. Cool, little-known album to check out and discover!
