- It's ok, definitely not great... tbh Metallica hasn't been great since the black album. I'll listen to everything except st. anger & Lulu, but yea I have to sadly admit new Metallica is kind of underwhelming. It sounds like alot of the time they're spent creatively and just trying to recycle ideas that worked in the past with new note combinations. Kirk's leads are garbage too.... sorry Kirk, but damn dude wtf happened to you? the album isn't bad but yea I'm done
- Listened to this straight through only once so far. First impressions, vinyl plays very quietly other than a slight low noise only heard between tracks throughout both of the records. This really rocks and sounds great, but becomes very monotonous after a while, there's no slowing down as much of the music seems very familiar from song to song. Good stuff, just wish there were some "breather" songs mixed in.
- Very little to no surface noise. The mix is punchy and the bass, drums and vocals are so good. I am so glad I bought this on black vinyl.
- Outstanding music and presentation. Vinyl is quiet and the mixing and engineering are superb. Great jacket, too.
- The mix and pressing are spot-on. Flat, quiet and superbly pressed. You just can’t get much better than Bob Ludwig and Chris Bellman at the helm!
- Edited one year agoI've listened to this record at least 8 times, I think with all the outstanding albums Metallica has made it blows my mind that they can still write such meaningful music, I mean they have written some great music in the paste and to keep it going with such powerful music is pretty incredible. I'm a fan of all their work but the last 3 records all have been really unbelievably good considering their library of music very impressed and happy with 72 Seasons. Pressing is solid very quiet and clean.
Thank You Metallica!! - 19€ up to 20€ for the CD here in Germany? Wtf...
And there is nothing extra. I've never bought a new CD for this price. - I was prepared to hate this, but it's surprisingly good. I may actually go out and buy it! I would say the best thing they have done since "...And Justice For All" and that's my hot take.
- KILLER record with ZERO filler… gets BETTER and BETTER with each listen. Straight b*alls to the wall in yer face rock!
The LP sounds fantastic and I love the sequencing… pick one side to rock out and get three tunes punching you straight in the face… LOVE IT!
I own the US standard black version and nevermind the talk of people gripping about the SQ… the album sounds wicked, thick and full… if you like the SW of Hardwired, I think this sounds better and as good as Black. - This black vinyl pressing sounds fucking incredible and I highly recommend it. Virtually no surface noise to speak of. Everything sounds nice and punchy, records are flat as fuck, no inner groove distortion whatsoever. I'd say if you have issues with this pressing, it's likely your setup.
