This pressing, mine is variant 3 of those listed above, sounds good and ballsy. Cliff's base is good and meaty and the whole thing sounds really good even on average equipment!

On a real note, someone really typed this is a quiet pressing? Get a 2008 remastered version and tell me what you hear then. You will beg to listen to this copy. I have heard the DMM ‘87 version, Specialty white label promo, Specialty, Allied, Columbia house, all the blackened garbage, both Warner versions, 2004 box set version and this is a really solid copy. I’d say it comes 3rd place next to Columbia house and Specialty press. The DMM version is a league of its own and I’m still unsure if it’s my preferred way of listening. This pressing gets an A from me.

I don’t understand the trash talk on this pressing. It is a heavy hitter. You guys really need to type your equipment I.E “hot pink crosley cruiser with red Jensen speakers” like come on. Sansui 8080, Rega P1, Cerwin Vega LS-12 and Klipsch Forte II

Bought this pressing as a teenager in '86 and have loved this copy ever since. Truth of the matter is the pressing is AWFUL (what happens when you squeeze 55 minutes of great music onto a single disc) but the quietness, the gritty distortion the murkiness of this press is what I grew up with and strange as it sounds, subsequent better sounding remasters just don't cut for me. If you're new to this album or wanting it on vinyl for the first time don't pay a fortune for this pressing; it's seriously not worth it, newer ones are far superior but if you've owned it from day one, well it's the best...

Am I the only person here who thinks that this version sounds plainly terrible ? It's quietly recorded, noisy and very tiresome to listen to (due to very muted dynamics). I have a French original of Kill'em All that is a complete opposite of this nonsense.

I bought a Master of Puppets vinyl at Best Buy a month ago. And, The record opening is on the top instead of on the right side. They had other Master of Puppets vinyls that were stamped different years on the back i/e copyright 1991, 2014, 2017. Anyways, I found one that had copyright 1986. So, I purchased that one. My question is, ."Is it possibly a first pressing or a error or just one of the few that was stamped 1986? They only had one that was stamped 1986.
My copy matches the descriptors above - no barcode, no country on labels, all white text on back cover. However, the hand-etched matrix is: MFN 60/RR 9717 A15, MFN 60 B-6. Does anyone have this version or any info??

Can't really find out what version I have. It has all texts on the cover on white, Music For Nations MFN 60 with no countries on labels. But the Matrix is RoadRunner: RR 9717 A1 [] Timtom/ RR 9717 B1 - bought it second hand so if there was a tour leaflet is long gone...
I have a copy with 2 serial, one is deleted :
rr9917(delete) rr9717 mfn-60 a.4
????
Why ? Has it more value?

4 welcome home (sanitarium)
Anyone able to shed some light on this?
