Reviews
- Awful quality control. Received box sent brand new and sealed. Opened it to find the original mix gatefold with a giant crease across the front (gatefold ruined), the remix all the corners were bashed in and jaded like it had been throw around the production floor and to top it off, a giant scratch ALL across side 5. What an absolute joke. And they charge HOW much for this? In the end I sent it back.
- Reseña en español de las 6 cajas de super lujo de Black Sabbath:
https://youtu.be/86xQvIq_2rU?si=9olytd_bJyXS1XNC - warped, 3 copies in a row. Rhino sent me a replacement (only one disc) when I posted on youtube and that too was warped. Dreadful attention or lack thereof to detail all around from Rhino. Nice packaging but we need to be able to PLAY it
- Edited one year agoHow any one can praise the remix is beyond me. I’m the first to welcome some new sounds from the Sabs, but this sounds dreadful. There’s weird cut and paste noises and dropouts everywhere (or the original tapes are damaged?), heavily compressed, the drums particularly sound like they are straight from mp3 and the fake stereo delay panning effect on the vocal that comes and goes makes all this sound even worse… The curse of Live eviL has not been lifted…
(Clearaudio Concept with MC - Clearaudio pre - NAD - Bowers & Wilkins 603 S2’s) - Great bundle (huge poster, deserves to be framed!).
The remix sound is so much better than the remastered one. The voice and drums sounds amazing on this.
Overall, a great set with a great sound (remix) - don’t forget it is a live album (never listened to the OG version, so cannot compare).
I don’t agree with others on compression issues, a must have for any Sabbath / metal fan.
System:
Rega P6
Rega Aethos
Q Acoustics concept 300 - The remix is way improved over the original IMO. My box set cost me $88.60 US after taxes (I live in Florida, USA) and for me it was worth it since I am a Sabbath fan. Both sound great on my system and the remix is my favorite of the two!
