i realy love that stuff. It was very impressive for me in the early 80ies. I remember, i asked my father "how they make an human voice sounding electric"? I still love it!
This 12 has a different mix than later releases the edits and mix are more raw never noticed until I go a second copy there are a few poor edits in this mix
A review inside one of the old Tommy Boy record sleeves said "The most intricate example of space funk ever to hit vinyl." It went to show that the term "electro" was not well known yet in 1982. Looking For The Perfect Beat strongly took off on its own course away from Planet Rock and established its own space. I spent many hours on cardboard listening to this one.
