- Edited 4 days agoThis is the most solid and even set of tunes these guys have put out in quite a while, and I enjoyed most of The Quest a great deal as well. Very strong effort. The title track in particular is excellent. Good melodies, well considered arrangements, & great playing. Yes lyrics have been hit or miss since Tormato in my opinion, but these are pretty good. Nothing distractingly bad or anything, and the vocals are mixed as another instrument rather than something that sits on top of everything. In that way, it sounds more like one of their 70's albums, but with modern production quality. A really good listen, and another nice surprise from a band that just keeps on going.
Note that I have not listened to the bonus disc yet, I am basing this on the main album, which I have listened to about five times as of this writing.
