I have compared this Cisco set with my original US SRC Cypress LP and here are a few thoughts. The Cisco feels more neutral/true to the tape than the original (the original is clearly brighter). The Cisco has more precise soundstage and the bass goes deeper. In the end, I mostly preferred the Cisco (Joan Of Arc and Came So Far For Beauty are no-comparison better here), with only one or two exceptions. I like how bright and crisp Ain't No Cure For Love sounds on the original LP compared to the Cisco 45.

I have owned a low numbered copy for a few years and even though it was originally a digital recording it sounds great. Hard to believe that the new One Step from Impex will be any better. Reluctant to pay the asking price to find out. They make a big deal about transfer from analog but the reality is there was a D/A step when recorded so even if the analog processing is fantastic you can't get away from the fact that it started out as 1980's digital.

        Good quality pressing and presentation.
        Mediocre sound.
The early Canadian Cypress sounds much better.

This pressing is mostly great. I do have an anomaly on "The Ballad of a Runaway Horse", but other than that, this is pressed extraordinarily well.

The music and Jennifer Warnes are so easy to hear, they burst out of the speakers. There is not distortion of any kind, and the surface noise is almost non-existent. Jennifer's voice is centered nicely, and any instruments flank her left and right. This recording is so clear sounding that you'd think it was just done in the last year or so. Very nice

Jennifer's voice is perfectly captured. Overall excellence.
