Not only one of the best HipHop albums of-all-time, but this is one of the best albums overall....of-all-time. Outstanding pressing on this one, no issues with my copy, sounds perfect. If I could give it another star, I would.
One of my all-time favourite albums which I have listened to hundreds (for real) times. Bought the CD when the album came out and I like tot think I know the album inside out. Until I played this modestly priced double vinyl. It is unbelievably good. Nuances I didn't pick up on the CD are heard on this pressing. It is (my copy) of outstanding quality. Quiet, free of ANY artifacts, flat, just brilliant music emerging from a black background, lively and dynamic. One of the best albums in the collection both musically and sonicly (is that a word!?)
This pressing is superb. Flat, top sonics. At least as good as my original US copy. Nice inner sleeves too (for a change)!
BUT there was some crud stuck in the grooves on my side 2 that made a ton of pops. With some efforts of my fingernail, it came free. then it played fine. I gave it a pro-clean after and it looks perfect.
Still, kinda dissapointing that it was dirty coming right out of the sealed package. Oh well, at least I didn't need to return it.
Hasn't anyone so far complained about the ugly blurry artwork? Compared with my UK original, this looks soo bad, way too dark, so that I returned the album without even checking the sound of the LP...
Comparing with my US first press, this is now my go-to listening copy. Bigger sound and clarity is spot on, an absolute winner of a reissue (why can't there be more like this). All the tracks are as original from what I can hear, no edits which is too common with Hip Hop reissues. Do not hesitateto grab a copy!.
I’m a beginner at this vinyl thing when it comes to assessing records but this sounds really good to my ears. Compared to my other records the sound is nice with pretty potent bass. Much better than the streamed version on Tidal on the same speakers. Had this in my college days and really enjoy it. It’s definitely worth picking up.
