Reviews
- Not bad but not great… Doesn’t scream analog, I wonder if there was a digital pass to remove tape noise/hiss. It sounds a bit too compressed to my ears. I wonder if the Speaker Corner version is better, can’t compare unfortunately. My copy came with lots of debris on the surface. US cleaning took care of it and it’s mostly silent. Apart from that, nice heavy press that’s perfectly flat. 3/5
- Edited 5 months agoUnfortunately my copy has a terrible "woosh" throughout, especially noticable during quiet passages and during blank spaces between songs.
Also, the overall recording level is low, compounding the issue.
Having said that, it is free of snap, crackle, pops. Albert King's voice is buried behind the instruments.
Good to have for nostalgia, but I am not impressed with this reissue. YMMV. - Excellent. Perfectly flat, great sound. I appreciate that it came in an archival anti-static inner sleeve!
