- It would be silly (like some here) to compare this version to the classic original, and disrespectful to Dee Edwards who performed on both versions.
The original sought after 1977 version was riding high in popularity and demand in the UK at the turn of the 90's. However instead of reissuing the original, this label attempted to cash in on the renewed interest in vintage soul, by returning to the studio to make updated versions. The same production crew was behind this. Tony Heights a respected collector from London on the 'modern soul /rare groove' scene at the time played an advisory role for obtaining the re-release of the biggest vintage soul songs in the label's catalogue, which the label tended to update, and released straight to the UK.
- This is not the version you want. Sounds like a crappy karaoke version.
