Enjoyable but slight album. Mercer and Darin are an interesting pair, representing what was at that time the old guard and new guard respectively; they seem to be having a good time, and there's lots of fun to be had, but the record is held back by some forgettable material. The interaction between the two headliners also seems too obviously canned sometimes, lacking that certain spontaneous feeling that helps this kind of banter, pre-planned or no. (One of the Rat Pack's secrets on stage was their ability to make pre-written dialogue and patter sound improvised.) Still, it's a nice little LP despite its shortcomings.
